Hemorrhoids and anal skin tags are common conditions that can sometimes be confused as one another because of their appearance. However, they are two completely different conditions that require different treatment. That is why it is important to know the difference between them.

We might giggle when we see a TV character squirming on a round pillow because of hemorrhoids, but if you have them you know they’re no laughing matter.

Hemorrhoids are veins in your rectum and anus that become swollen and irritated. One of the main symptoms of hemorrhoids is rectal bleeding which can be an alarming symptom.

Sometimes the symptoms of hemorrhoid are so mild you might not even be aware you have them. Other times, though, they can be extremely painful and impact your ability to go about your daily life. Read on to find out what causes hemorrhoid and how you can treat them.

These symptoms could be cause for concern or they could be signs of a common and less serious condition known as hemorrhoids. Did you know that hemorrhoids can be both internal AND external? They are!  hemorrhoids, also known as piles, are similar to varicose veins because they are veins inside of the rectum or under the skin around the opening to the rectum that have become swollen.
