• Persistent, severe abdominal pain (possible pancreatitis)
• Signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or throat
• Blistering skin reactions (possible bullous pemphigoid)

Long-term metformin use can reduce vitamin B12 levels in some people. If you experience unexplained tiredness, tingling in hands or feet, or anaemia, your prescriber may check your B12 levels.
